GaiaAlertsPy was initially developed to search for stellar variability in the Gaia photometric science alerts. It was the primary tool used in the discovery of Gaia17bpp (Tzanidakis et al. 2023). GaiaAlertsPy would not be possible without the support of many other open-source projects, including Astropy, Pandas, NumPy, and Matplotlib. If you use GaiaAlertsPy in a scientific publication or data exploration workflows we ask that you please cite it and its dependencies.

If you use GaiaAlertsPy in your work, please cite and acknowledge the following works:
  1. Gaia Early Data Release 3. Gaia photometric science alerts

  2. Gaia17bpp: A Giant Star with the Deepest and Longest Known Dimming Event

  3. This research made use of GaiaAlertsPy. In addition, we acknowledge ESA Gaia, DPAC and the Photometric Science Alerts Team
